Weather /ride update
Someone heard my lament for the weather. It turned into a really nice day. Warm and sunny. I even put shorts on and sat on the porch for a bit. I went for a low km ride on the path to Boler. Coming back, I decided to try and catch up to a fast road bike dude for something to do. I didn't really expect to get up to the quick moving yellow speck in the distance, but I actually caught the guy after a couple of Km near the path under the Lombardo bridge at Wonderland! And then I passed him. And kept ahead of him. He did catch up to me and I realized after a bit he was drafting me.
He did this off and on for the balance of the chase - this was a friendly but flat out race, and I wanted to be first. I didn't let up once - 30-35kph or better - from the Merry-Go-Round at Storybook till the bridge over the Thames at the Forks (well, I slowed a bit going around into the dark pedestrian tunnel at the entrance to the bike path but that was it). I was quite winded and my heart was trip hammering when I finally got up to city streets after Harris Park.
That was really fun. It does help motivate you to go that much faster when someone is nipping at your heels!
Carpe Diem
