Cliffs on the Pacific side of Point Loma ( Star pic two above was on the San Diego side.)
So I went to Pt. Loma and saw the great views of the Pacific and something I didn’t realize. That there are mountains around here. Well, I knew since I had a map and there were elevation markers on it etc., but I had never seen mountains from the harbour or downtown. In fact, I had never seen any mountains before in my life. The ones here are brown and not snow capped, though that does happen in the winter at the higher elevations. I parked and got to see the Star out in the ocean a couple of miles away. Was as clear as anyone has ever seen it apparently on Sunday. Some of the locals said you could never see as far as one of the mountain ranges East of SD. I took some pics but they are far. They do have a certain old historical look though. I could almost picture her as the only ship out there coming in to port and there being no carriers, cruise ships or freighters. Just a couple of tall ships and a couple of wooden piled piers.
Carpe Diem
