Overcast life: OK. Went out and came back and the hammer time was ongoing. And will be till Saturday morning. Before laundry, I hit CAA and got a Trip Tick done. I probably don't need one, but it's free. I picked up some out of province insurance too. A 1 GB compact Flash card would have been over 200 bucks at Henry's so I bailed on that thought and got a second 512 one at costco for cheap.
It was overcast, so I followed the suggestion of one of the people I work with and shot some pics at the old psych hospital facilities behind Parkwood hospital which look like they date from WWII or so. Run down, abandoned, and broken into. One and two story buildings with names like Essex, Elgin, and Waterloo. I have a bit of editing to do - as I took my usual number of excessive shots. Nearly 140 or so. And a few macros which I was pleased with.
In contrast, I watched a show on City TV last night called Naked in the House 4, in which four photographers separately shoot a nude model in or around a house with only one roll of film and in half an hour. It was really interesting what they came up with. Their individual visions were really different. They only had thirty six frames. It was interesting watching them as they envisioned the shots, posed the model, and overcame the challenges of the environment and the varying lighting.
I will post on Flickr during the next couple of days a few of the shots I took - sorry, no nude models. Though that would be an interesting contrast to the buildings... :)
Carpe Diem
