Happy Birthday Steph!
Steph's birthday today. She thinks she is old at 20... :)
I took her and Nadine to see the Bourne Supremacy last night at Masonville. Steph drove us there in her first car. This was the first time I had been a passenger with her and I have to admit she is a really good driver. I wasn't nervous at all. She will do great when she does her road test in the end of August. Remember, it's just a Side-By-side QA. :)
Bourne Supremacy was pretty good, but the cinematography was too jerky for my liking - or we were too close to the screen. It could have benefited from a steady cam or two. Worth a look if you like spy / thriller stories.
Edited the links
I had not shuffled the links around on the site for a while. I ditched some blogs and sites I hardly or never go to - sorry if you used them! And I added some links to stuff I use. Lots of sports related stuff. Not something I would have imagined putting up in March last year. And I included Sherry's brand new kitofcat blog. Now she just has to post once in a while... :P
Time Trial Results
Today is the last kick at the can. The 55km Individual Time Trial on Stage 19 of the Tour de France. Last is essentially the victory ride to Paris where no time can really be made up. Only the sprinters in the Green jersey competition will fight it out on the Champs d'Élyse tomorrow.
Lance, who started last, was up one minute over Ullrich at the 30km intermediate check. Ullrich was besting everyone else including Ivan Basso - but over all I don't think he will be on the podium in Paris as he is too far back. Other riders were 1-2 mins back from Lance. Lance was just flying.
Lance Finished First at 1h6m48s, average speed 49kph. Almost passing Basso at the line who started 3 mins before him.
Ulrich Finished second 61 sec back (once again the exact diff from last year's TT).
Klodden Finished third at 1m27s back
Ivan Basso, who doesn't yet have the legs for a TT, Finished at 2:50 back.
Lance is up 6:38 over the runner up over all. Tomorrow, tour number Six is his! :)
And how am I?
As for me after yesterday's effort, shoulders are a little stiff, as are my quads. But no other issues from the ride yesterday. K got a bit of sun, but other than that no worries.
Work is now on the horizon. Month is in the home stretch.
Carpe Diem
