SIX
Well, it's all over. The summer classic is complete and for the sixth year in a row, Lance Armstrong has won the Tour de France. In new yellow and blue jerseys, the US Postal team crossed the line for the very last time. Going in to Paris, before the final sprints, Lance drank a small glass of champagne, and showing a big smile counted off on his fingers, one - two - three - four - five and then six.
It's the last one for USPS, but is it the last one for Lance? I don't think so. But we shall see in a few months when Lance will decide if he is going to go for an incredible seventh Tour win in 2005.
The final General Classification results are:
83 hours 36 minutes 02 seconds: Lance Armstrong
6m 19s back: Klodden
6m 40s back: Basso
and at 8m 50s back: Jan Ulrich
OK. Back to work. Time to continue to set some personal bests for myself for the rest of the year.
Well done Lance!
Carpe Diem
