Rondeau Triathlon
Looking forward to the Triathlon I will watch on Saturday. Should be fun. No idea where the best place to watch it would be. I am sure I will get it sorted out. Make sure I take lots of pics.

Pool Tool
So this absolute tool -had to be Canadian - decided to do a promo stunt at the Olympics. Got through the security (says a lot) and climbed onto the diving platform, disrobed into a tutu with the name of some sort of Native Canadian Casino on his chest and jumped into the swimming pool. How freaking embarassing... The BBC article doesn't mention that he is Canadian, but the CBC Radio news I heard did...

Star of India
Was talking to JJ the other day who is making a detailed ship model, and I recalled I had been corresponding with the staff of the San Diego Marine Museum earlier in the year. I would really like to go on board when the Star of India sails on either November 13 or 14th of this year. It's usually a VIP only affair. However, given my connection to the ship - for those who don't know, my Great Great Grandfather Phillips was one of her masters in the 1870s on the emmigrant runs between England and New Zealand. Not sure if that would mean anything to anyone other than me, but perhaps I could be on board. I need to get in touch with the Museum and see what I can find out. I think being on that ship underway would raise the hairs on the back of the neck. My uncle Rob was on board a couple of years ago when the ship was tied up at the dock and took some great pics, but I might be the first descendant of Capt Phillips to sail on the Star in 120 years. That would make the year.

Carpe Diem
