Multiple vulnerabilities in Mozilla based browsers
Geek Security Alert: From this WindowsIT Pro article, info on several security issues in Mozilla, FireFox and ThunderBird browsers. Essentially, go to Mozilla.org and upgrade your browser to the lastest versions.

Firefox on a Key drive
Geek alert: Put a version of the Firefox Portable browser on a portable USB drive for when you need to work on a system that has only IE and you don't want to use IE. See above re: the vulnerabilities...

MSN beats AOL and ICQ, OK?
Geek Alert: There are now more MSN Messenger users than the other IM platforms. I use it. Get it at the MSN Messenger page.

The Mission Statement
Business: Which leads me to the following blog which contains Microsoft's full company mission statement.
A computer on every desk and in every home, running Microsoft software.
... running MSN Messenger...

And in more MS News
Business Geek: Microsoft is going to charge users who want to access their Hotmail or MSN email accounts via an email client such as Outlook or Outlook Express. Spokesperson says it is to reduce spam and not due to profit motives. From Internet Week.

An RUV?
Insanity: I call it a Rediculous Utility Vehicle. H2's or Escalades not big enough for you? How about a vehicle based on a cement mixer body/frame. NaviStar, the manufacturer doesn't expect to sell more than 50 a year.

ATC Blue Screen?
Geek Alert: Air Traffic Control taken down by a Microsoft Server Error and it causes a nearly 800 plane pile up? Doc Searls talks about it.

A new Map tool
Travel Geek: Mapquest and Yahoo Maps. Sure. But if traveling in the US, give Map24.com a look.

How connected is *too* connected?
Geek Alert:

You have responded to an email while home, in bed.

You have responded to an instant message while driving. On your cell phone. And it was more than just, "OK."

You have more than one e-mail account that you check from work.
You move information from one device to another by e-mailing it to yourself.

More from Sean Gallagher's Root Access...

Carpe Diem
