Mike get's SourceCoded
Podcasting: In my early Monday morning post I mentioned that I had recorded an MP3mail to Adam Curry in the Netherlands. Well. I get home from work, and iPodder had downloaded the latest Daily Source Code podcast, so I decided to have a listen instead of waiting till my drive to and from work tomorrow (my drives take slightly longer now that I have something worthwhile to listen to in the CRV).
Adam was talking about portable MP3 players that he was trying out for recording, and a little while into the show he says he is going to play an MP3 email about Geo-caching. My email! He didn't play the whole thing, but played the opening when I intro'd myself and mentioned the blog URL. He kept pausing me and commenting on what I was saying - quite positively as well. He liked the idea of CAA travel books and Expedia and such having podcasts. I was stunned, but this was great stuff.
I was at the same time pretty stoked and a little self conscious - he does, after all have thousands of people downloading his podcast and it is the premiere one out there. Part of me wondered if he would play the thing if I sent it, and the rest of me thought the odds were too low. Just a geeky exercise. Good sound quality though. I can recall how it was like the first time I heard myself recorded in NICE, but at least I was expecting that when I had that headset on!
Has anyone had anything like this happen to them before? I mean, I am now in the pockets and on the hips of people around the world. Well, at least for a little while till I am deleted... :)
I guess this is my 15 mins of podfame? Naw. More to come I am sure!
The podcast can be found here. It's 1h1m50s long and 28.3MB, MP3 format, Bit Rate: 64kbps. My segment is from nine to 11 mins or so.
Thanks Adam, that was fun!
Carpe Diem
