Marry a Liberal American
Post Election... Fun: Why not offer safe haven to some downtrodden, but hopefully hot, liberals who are looking to flee the US in the wake of the Republican presidential win. Stepping in to help out is Canada: www.marryanamerican.ca. Nearly 2000 of us are willing to take the plunge. ( Sorry all you eligible and interested US ladies: I think I am going to sit out getting married again...) - via Scoble.
And to know why they want to flee, take a look at this county by county map of the US. The blue are the counties that John Kerry, the Democrat, won. The ones in red are the ones that Bush won. Striking. Drives it home a lot more than the state by state tallies that we have seen. Found this interesting interpretive map of North america, post election as well. Both via scripting news.
Maxtor
Geek alert: Got the Maxtor 160GB external HD up and running and formatted to NTFS. XP simply recognizes it as another hard drive. Currently connected via USB, but when I get a 6 to 4 pin firewire cable (thanks Jo!) I will try the 1394 port for speed. I backed up my laptop's files to it. Reading the instructions took the longest. Has the single touch back up that can be configured to pull anything from your computer and then replace and save it. I need to spring clean some files, but now I have about 150GB. Tres cool. And it's brushed metal case sitting on the edge looks slick with the blue light strip button on the front.
