Delaware Speedway photos: I went ot the Delaware Speedway last night and shot some pics as a trial run. I have never tried to shoot a car race before, and it was a challenge figuring out shots and angles and so on. I spent about three hours there - and about 90 mins shooting as it got too dark to shoot super fast cars under so so lights. Good fun. I just have to figure out how to get in the pits to shoot from there...
After the regular races, the cool thing to stick around and see were the people in the King of the Hill competition. These guys - there was only one woman competing - take their stree legal cars and do one on one elimination laps around the speedway. The first and only other time I saw this - about 4 years ago, a small black Honda Civic hatch the announcer called Shoebox won. The guy can drive. Well, he was here - as were several other Civics, Mustangs, Dodge Rams and F-150s, Acura's and so on. No soccer mom vans and SUVs - though sometimes they do show. Shoebox won again out of the field of 42 entrants, and apparently he is undefeated in 5 years of racing. No pics of him winning as it was after 11pm when he did, but good -insurance issues aside - fun.
I will upload some pics after work tonight.
I also took a look at the prints I did of the Newfoundland trip. The woman in the store was gushing over them. There were some nice ones in there. And some didn't print so well, but all in all I was pleased.
Work calls! Got to to the place that helps me pay for all this fun when not working! :)
Carpe Diem
