Weekend update with Mike weekend stuff: This weekend was taking some pics for Kara around St. Jacobs which is just north of Kitchener Waterloo in SW Ontario. She grew up there and wanted some BW or sepia prints for her new apartment. I was happy to oblige. We went down after hitting the Husky truck stop and as it was quite windy and rainy we dropped by Ikea to get some stuff for her place. She did quite nicely and I picked up a couple of picture frames. And I got hear some great stories which I unfortunately can't pass on. :)
Driving up to the 401 from burlington via Hwy 6 is much nicer than the 403 and while slightly slower than the highway, there is lots to see. And a return trip with a model and a camera would be in order I think. Probably next year at this point.
St. Jacobs was a nice little town. And I got some good shots. Kara had some specific locations in mind and I think I got them all except for the restaurant she worked at. I really like how the dam/falls turned out just out of town on the road behind the Home Hardware depot. Played around with the exposure and used an ND filter. Tripod legs in the water. And the sunset with the insane red clouds from the drive home was pretty killer too.
And today I managed to locate a couple of tee shirts. Apparently John Deere green tee's are in now. And well now I have two to pass on... Nothing runs like a Deere and fits like a glove. :)
Carpe Diem
